23-year-old Immonen is a KalPa-bred who has played in the League for four seasons, while 28-year-old American Berardinelli arrives in Mikkeli as a fresh Mestis champion.
Jukurit gets stronger with two forwards when Severi Immonen and Alex Berardinelli join the team. Immonen signed a two-year contract, while Berardinelli’s contract is for one year, with an option for another year.
The 23-year-old Immonen is a KalPa graduate who has played in the League in four seasons in total 130 regular season matches with 9+12. In his junior years, Immonen celebrated the Finnish championship of the U18 and U20 series in Kuopio (2017 and 2018).
- Severi is a promising attacker who has gone through KalPa’s junior mill and Leijoni’s junior national team path, and who, despite his young age, is already a reasonably experienced player in the League. He is a hard worker and a player with skating power and will complement our team perfectly, Jukurie’s development manager Mikko Hakkarainen says.
The 28-year-old Berardinelli arrives in Mikkeli from IPK, where the American striker ended his season with the Mestis championship under Jukurie’s current head coach Marko Tuomainen.
Berardinelli was one of the team’s most important players, as he won the regular season goal exchange with 28 goals and scored a total of 53 power points. Before moving to Finland, Berardinelli has played in the French premier league in Mulhouse (2022-2023) and in North America in the NCAA and ECHL leagues, among others.
- Alex is still an unknown name in Finland, but he has a strong university background and has gathered a lot of experience there. As a player, he is skating strong and unyielding, who does not shy away from struggles. Last season he showed in Iisalmi that he can also produce results, and we expect the same from him in Jukurei as well, Hakkarainen explains.
