he import striker complements the EHC Freiburg squad until the end of the season
With 27-year-old Kenneth Hausinger, the Wolves have signed another contingent player.
For the native American, it is the first stop outside of his home country. Born in Alaska, the legal shooter moved to the University of Massachusetts in 2016, where he was able to celebrate winning the demanding NCAA collegiate championship in his freshman year. For the 2021/22 season, the attacker then joined the Reading Royals in the East Coast Hockey League and recorded 47 points in 70 games alongside Jackson Cressey. In the current season, the striker also wore the jerseys of the Norfolk Admirals and the Wichita Thunder in the ECHL, for which he scored a total of 16 points in 37 games. The import striker is now moving to Breisgau until the end of the season.
Sporting Director Peter Salmik: “In Kenny, we found a player who, as a right-hander, center and winger, exactly meets our criteria when we were looking for a replacement at the vacant import position. He knows where the goal is and also has good tackle and defensive skills. We have also heard nothing but good things about him from his former teammate Jackson Cressey and are delighted to have him on our team at this important stage of the season.”
New signing Kenneth Hausinger: “I am very happy to have the opportunity to play for EHC Freiburg. It will be a new and exciting experience for me. I can’t wait to get on the ice and play in front of the Wolves fans.”
If all the formalities are fulfilled, Kenneth Hausinger will celebrate his debut for EHC Freiburg in the home game on Friday against the Kassel Huskies.
