GATINEAU – The Gatineau Olympiques are pleased to announce the signing of American defenceman Luke Murphy for the 2026-2027 season.
A native of Springfield, Pennsylvania, Murphy is an 18-year-old blueliner who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 181 pounds. He spent the 2025-2026 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 18U program, where he recorded 35 points (10 goals, 25 assists) in 52 games.
Known for his skating ability, hockey sense, and offensive upside, Murphy will add depth and talent to the Olympiques’ defensive corps.
“Luke is a modern defenceman with excellent skating ability and strong offensive instincts. His development over the past few years has been impressive, and we believe he has the potential to become an important player for our organization. We are very excited to welcome him to Gatineau,” said Olympiques General Manager and Interim Head Coach Serge Beausoleil.
