OMAHA, NE. – The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have announced that Defenseman, Trey Scott has committed to play division one college hockey at the University of Connecticut.
Scott, 19, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts has had a brief USHL career with two clubs. Playing five games this season (2023-24), with the Omaha Lancers and had played four games last season (2022-23) with the Youngstown Phantoms. Through his nine USHL games, Scott has picked up one point (1G-0A-1P) in the form of a game-winning goal that was notched on December 17th, 2022 in a 5-1 win over the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
Prior to his USHL experience, the 5-foot-10, 178 pound defenseman had a great season in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Maryland Black Bears. Tallying 27 points (5G-22A-27P) in 43 games played in the regular season. On top of that, Scott played his part in the Black Bears’ Robertson Cup Playoff run as he racked up six points (1G-5A-6P) in ten postseason games.
